Your medical cannabis care team consists of a cannabis trained pharmacist, nurse, physician, and coach. Below is an outline of what to expect when meeting with our team. You should expect your first appointment to last 60 minutes, and 40-60 minutes for follow up appointments.
Our Pharmacists will review your medication regimen for potential drug interactions, including those involving cannabis and other herbs/supplements. This 15-minute call prior to your consultation with the doctor prioritizes safety and individualized care.
Note that not all patients require this appointment, depending on their medication use.
On the day of your appointment prior to your consultation with the physician, one of our experienced nurses will conduct a thorough review of your intake questionnaire, to better comprehend your reasons for seeking medical cannabis therapy. This brief but critical 15-20 minute assessment is a crucial aspect of our patient-centered approach to healthcare, which underscores the importance of individualized treatment plans. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to ask the nurse any general questions you may have during this time.
Following your consultation with the nurse, you will have a 15-20 minute meeting with one of our physicians. Your medical history, current medical condition(s), and any questions you may have regarding your health will be addressed. This assessment will determine whether medical cannabis therapy is suitable for you. If this treatment is appropriate, you will receive a medical document that authorizes you to access medical cannabis products from a Canadian Licensed Producer.
Once you have been approved for medical cannabis, you will meet with one of our cannabis coaches. This typically happens immediately following your initial meeting with the physician, and on an as needed basis for follow up appointments. Our cannabis coaches are the product experts, and they will assist you in finding the Licensed Producer and product(s) that best suit your needs based on the recommendations of the physician. They will provide coaching on dosing your product(s) and will be a point of contact for you at the clinic to answer your questions and offer support throughout your medical cannabis journey.
